wellbeing and wellness
Wellbeing is simply defined as the state of being well. But for each person, being well can mean different things and is dependent on many factors. There are also many domains of wellbeing, including financial and intellectual, each impacting the others. Here we focus on three; emotional, mental and spiritual, which have profound effects on quality of life.
These areas are the 'unseen' elements of you as a person - yet have a very visible manifestation in your world and your perception of it. As more is understood about the link between our inner states and our physical health, the importance of them becomes paramount to our wellness. Those with emotional problems such as anxiety, mental issues such as depression, or spiritual struggles such as a lack of connection or purpose, can become isolated or feel ashamed; but to experience these things is part of being human. Overcoming them is both realistic and a right. |
